On Earth Day, NatureBridge hosted 31 volunteers from Oracle for a stewardship project and learning experience at our Golden Gate location. The volunteers included Oracle employees as well as their families and friends. Fayeza Mullamithawala, an Oracle volunteer, reflects on the experience.

Recently, I met some superheroes. While none of them actually fly (at least not without boarding an airplane), they all inspire.

At the second annual Green Schools National Conference this year, heroes moved about the Denver convention center like bees in an ecologically savvy hive.

The room was packed with more than 300 people last night as multiple groups (NatureBridge, National Park Conservation Association, Student Conservation Association, American Rivers, American Whitewater, Olympic National Park, and U.S. Geological Service) held what is planned to be the first of four Evenings on the Elwha at REI.

It’s January and the holiday season is over. As you happily gaze at your collection of newly received gifts, you can’t help but think of the old things they replaced. The 62” plasma sits in its untouched box, waiting for the 44” to leave its throne on the living room wall.

Today I am writing about something absurd I saw in a trash can last fall. Apples. I know everyone throws out (or better yet, composts!) an apple once in a while—one that got bruised or that we just couldn’t finish. But in this trash can, I saw more than 100 apples!
