The rain that was falling for most of the day Wednesday didn’t concern us very much. We spent the day making last minute preparations and planning for our mission ahead. By the time 3:30 rolled around, the sky still held grayness, but the rain had stopped. We gathered by the field at the edge of camp. We were ready. Soon the words we had been waiting for came over the radios. “NatureBridge educators, we have a bus.” They were here! |

This month, NatureBridge is showcasing residential environmental education in Prince William Forest Park, Virginia, just south of Washington D.C. Our small team of field science educators are on loan from their home campuses at National Parks that span the west coast of the country for a Demonstration Program, NatureBridge’s first on the East Coast.
