Empowering Change: Garbology at Headlands Institute

Food Waste – we all produce it. For most of us, this waste feels like an inevitable byproduct of our daily lives. But, at Headlands Institute, a campus of NatureBridge, students and educators are working to change that - or at the very least change where their waste ends up.

NatureBridge honored with environmental education award

From October 7-10, fourteen NatureBridge education staff members attended the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) conference in Portland, Oregon. For three fabulous days, we attended workshops, presentations, and panel and round-table discussions about cutting-edge practices, issues, topics, and research in the field of environmental education.

Why we do what we do

I was reminded last week about why we do what we do when I received this wonderful gift from the kids at Seven Hills School in Nevada City who recently attended Headlands Institute.

We do it for the kids.

We do it to help them see the incredible potential they have to change the world.

We do it so that they will be inspired to be better environmental stewards, better community leaders, and better citizens.
