For nearly 40 years, we have led the way in residential field science and environmental education for America’s youth.  Earlier this year, we changed our name from Yosemite National Institutes to NatureBridge and launched our plans to expand our role as a national leader in environmental education and stewardship.

Coastal Camp Sets Sail!

“I’m so excited!” exclaimed NatureBridge’s Coastal Camp counselor Serena, as she stood on the dock in Sausalito, CA, staring at the 82-foot schooner we were about to board. “I can’t wait to sail. I can’t wait for the campers to arrive. I can’t wait to teach what I’ve learned. This summer is going to be awesome.”

Amoreena Treff, field science educator at the Headlands Institute was a guest on KQED Radio's Forum with Michael Krasny on April 22, 2010.  The show focused on  the ecological challenges ahead and how California schools and other state programs are bringing students outside to inspire them to learn about nature and science.

 

Outside Magazine Names NatureBridge As One Of America’s Best Places To Work In 2010

Thirty-nine year old San Francisco-based environmental education nonprofit wins a  spot in the top 20.

San Francisco, April 6, 2010 – NatureBridge today was named to Outside magazine’s (www.outsideonline.com) third annual “Best Places to Work” list. NatureBridge was ranked No. 20 out of 50 selected companies. The full list and related story will be published in the May issue of Outsidemagazine, available on newsstands April 20, 2010. 

U.S. House Votes for Outdoor Environmental Education | sierraclub.org

Washington, D.C. -- Today, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to connect kids with our oceans, coasts and watersheds by expanding and improving outdoor educational opportunities for children. Today’s passage of the Ocean, Coastal and Watershed Education Act (HR 3644), reaffirms Congress’ commitment to environmental education and a greener future for America's youth.

nps.gov | Neubacher Named Superintendent of Yosemite National Park

WASHINGTON – Don Neubacher has been selected as the new superintendent of Yosemite National Park in California. Neubacher takes over from David Uberuaga who has been acting superintendent since Mike Tollefson retired last year.
