Coastal Camp
Every day at Coastal Camp is an opportunity for adventure and discovery in the outdoors. Campers engage their curious minds and boundless energy by exploring and investigating the natural world.
- Who: Students entering grades 1 - 9
- What: Week-long sessions weekdays Monday-Friday
- When: 9:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with optional extended care from 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Where: Along beautiful Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands
Coastal Camp finds the place where play and learning meet by combining marine and coastal ecology with hands-on activities, arts, and group games. Our staff includes expert naturalists and experienced counselors.

Headlands Institute is a leader in environmental education and has provided safe, award-winning, outdoor learning experiences for more than 200,000 children over the last 30 years. Our diverse and skilled staff creates a safe environment in which campers develop friendships in a meaningful community, discover a strong sense of self, and create a unique connection to the world around them, while exploring the stunning coastal landscape. Drop off all your campers at one convenient location!
Coastal Camp and Bay Area Discovery Museum have teamed up to offer campers of all ages opportunities to play, discover and create. The Bay Area Discovery Museum offers 14 playful Discovery Camps for campers ages 3-8 including Shipwrecks and Treasure Hunts, Summer Time Rock Out!, Creative Carpentry, and more. This summer we are offering a convenient shuttle from the Bay Area Discovery Museum to Coastal Camp. Pick-up will be at 9 a.m. and drop-off will be at 3:45 p.m. Learn more about the Bay Area Discovery Museum’s summer camps.
