NatureBridge Leadership

Throughout its history, NatureBridge has benefited from extraordinary leadership. The NatureBridge staff is comprised of leaders in their fields who are strongly committed to our mission. The senior leadership team collectively celebrates 40 years with the organization. Several senior staff members started as field science educators and share a deep understanding of and commitment to the mission.

President & CEO

As part of our emerging national vision, NatureBridge welcomed Susan Smartt as the new president and CEO in 2008. Susan previously served as the executive director for the California League of Conservation Voters and the California State Parks Foundation.

Board Chair

In May 2008, the Board of Directors nominated Stephen Lockhart , M.D., Ph.D. as Board chair. Steve’s leadership and vision have moved the NatureBridge mission forward, invigorating the entire organization.
