NatureBridge is honored to receive the Environmental Education Conservation Award from the John Muir Association.

John Muir was one of the earliest conservationists and is known as the father of the National Parks System. The John Muir Conservation Awards acknowledge individuals, groups, or organizations for their environmental advocacy, restoration, protection, or conservation efforts.

The award was presented at the 33rd John Muir Conservation Award Celebration on November 13, 2010.  Yosemite National Park Ranger Shelton Johnson gave the keynote address.  Johnson appeared in Ken Burns’s recent six-part series, “Our National Parks: America’s Best Idea” on PBS and is the author of the acclaimed novel, Gloryland, the story of a Buffalo Soldier.
