North Olympic Watershed Science
NOW Science programs connect students in Port Angeles, Sequim, Crescent and Forks School Districts with their home watersheds. These programs include in-class visits, day field trips, and residential programs on our campus. We are highlighting student work from these programs!

Port Angeles
Olympic Park Institute provides programming for every eighth grader at Steven’s Middle School. A subset ‘Leadership’ group receives field trip experiences early in the school year. Later on, those student leaders assist as their classmates participate in both classroom and field curriculum centered on inquiry-based science in the Elwha River watershed.
Crescent
The sixth, seventh and eighth graders at Crescent School receive both in-class presentations and field trip programs centered on inquiry-based science in the Elwha River Watershed.
Sequim
All sixth graders from Sequim Middle School attend a 3-day residential field experience at Olympic Park Institute’s campus focused on inquiry-based science.
Forks
All fifth graders at Forks Elementary School spend a full week at their school with Olympic Park Institute educators, focused on the process of science and building a foundation for the science curriculum for the year.
