Exploring opportunities in California's wild lands

As an innovative partnership between NatureBridge, Yosemite and Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Parks, and the USDA Forest Service, WildLink engages underserved high school students from California in wilderness and public lands. WildLink empowers youth to improve their own lives and their communities through a series of wilderness- and home-based experiences including:

• Wilderness expeditions
• Volunteer stewardship projects
• Leadership trainings
• Family weekends in Yosemite
• Career development opportunities

Serving communities

WildLink’s holistic programming cultivates participants’ relationship to the natural world with awareness and ownership to build lasting connections between youth, their local communities, and wild places. Through presentations, service, and stewardship projects, participants reach out to their peers and their communities to help ensure California’s diverse citizenry is informed, invested, and committed to the enduring resource of wilderness.

Appreciation for public lands

Since 2000, WildLink has opened the wilderness of the Sierra Nevada to the multicultural populations living at its doorstep and demonstrated the relevance and benefits of the outdoors and public lands for all Americans.
