New Superintendent Announced for Yosemite National Park

Director of the National Park Service, Jon Jarvis, announced Tuesday that Yosemite National Park will be getting a new superintendent. Don Neubacher, currently Superintendent of Point Reyes National Seashore, will be moving to the Yosemite superintendent post in the next few months. "Don is a seasoned manager who has proven himself time and time again to be an exceptional leader," said Jarvis.  "He brings a thoughtful approach to the vast range of issues faced by a modern park manager in protecting park resources, providing quality experiences to our visitors, and motivating a highly professional staff. Yosemite is a high priority position, and I appreciate Don taking on this new challenge." We are especially excited by Don's self-professed interest in and support for youth education programs.

In addition to a hearty welcome to Superintendent Neubacher, we want to join Yosemite National Park Service staff and appreciating all of the personal and professional sacrifices that our current Interim Superintendent, Dave Uberuaga, has made for the Park. He has been a strong leader for Yosemite and we appreciate all that he has done in support of the NPS mission over the last year. Dave will be missed.
