Coastal Camp Staff
Coastal Camp staff consists of college-age seasonal camp counselors and year-round field science educators. Our counselors and educators have a diversity of camp and outdoor experiences and education in the natural sciences.
Required forms
A Camp Risk Release Form is required of all campers to participate in our programs.
Scholarship
NatureBridge is dedicated to providing youth from underserved communities with the opportunity to attend camp by offering scholarship awards. If your child needs assistance to attend Coastal Camp you may submit a scholarship application. View our scholarship policy.
Food
Campers enjoy a delicious and healthy lunch prepared fresh daily by our chefs. Morning and afternoon snacks are also provided and include seasonal fruits and crackers.
Safety
We maintain a maximum adult to youth ratio of 1:8. Campers are placed in hiking groups according to their grade with a maximum of 16 campers/group. Our camp staff are pre-screened, highly qualified, and CPR and first aid certified. Additionally, our educators are wilderness first responders. In the event of inclement weather, our campus has several indoor science labs, including a marine lab featuring intertidal creatures. Swimming is not permitted.
Early and extended care
Coastal Camp offers morning and evening extended care. Morning care is available from 8 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. for $8/day. Afternoon care is available from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for $13/day. The camper to staff ratio of 8:1 will be maintained. During extended care campers have a variety of activities including recreational games outside as well as indoor activities such as arts and crafts.
Shuttle service
Convenient, optional shuttle transportation is available for all summer sessions. Shuttle transportation for morning and afternoon shuttle is $50/week from the Bay Area Discovery Museum and $65/week from Mill Valley and San Francisco. You can purchase morning shuttle only or afternoon shuttle only for half that price.
