For nearly 40 years, we have led the way in residential field science and environmental education for America’s youth.  Earlier this year, we changed our name from Yosemite National Institutes to NatureBridge and launched our plans to expand our role as a national leader in environmental education and stewardship.

Students at Yosemite Institute are contributing to a long term database of snow depth measurements in Crane Flat Meadow. As well as learning survey techniques and data analysis, they play a direct role in monitoring climate change in Yosemite.

As we strive to inspire the next generation of stewards through the lens of environmental science, it is important to remember that there are people all over the world also working to educate and inspire people to act responsibly toward the environment. Helge Helberg is actively engaged in that conversation, and on his radio show, “An Organic Conversation,” he combines stories from real people along with modern day science and ancient wisdom to engage people in environmental stewardship.

The Missing Piece

Never as an outdoor educator have I witnessed a student lose a boot; and only one boot for that matter.
